Where this site is at today 02/05/06

I did hope to have by now a rough spectrum of news site on the web. It is coming. What's the hold up you might ask. Well the hold up is the surprise I got looking for the cross over sites. Let me explain (because I want you to come back here stick me in your favorites and sell you a shirt).

When I started the search for the Bean I started obviously with the lizard connection. This came up with loads of material, all interesting and far fetched. It seemed a lot of conspiracy theorists have sort of hung their coat on the lizard peg. OK its good copy but very out there. Then you have a whole cacophony of conspiracy sites with a whole range of subject matter (Assassinations, UFO's, Chemtrails, Aliens, two headed snakes, New World Order,911) These Conspiracy sites cross over into Alternative news sites. Now this is where I found the problems. The Alternative news sites are looking for a wider audience than the conspiracy sites. They shy away from the lizard thing (for obvious reasons) and tend to ER towards the media manipulation NWO side of things.

This is when things started to get intriguing for me. I'm ripping through all the Alternative news sites I can find (for weeks) and getting a feel of what's going on. Seeing who is who, who writes for what trying to work out the arena. OK a lot of these sites seem to repeat the same news and get there news from the same sources, that is to be expected. Same as the mainstream. So, then I cross over to the mainstream and have a look. (To all the geeks, jockey's and cyberheads out there respect! this is old news I imagine, but to me, I am relatively new to this game) What do I find, well first off I go to CNN.com that's got to be as about as mainstream as you can get? I notice a very limited reporting of the Iraq scene, nothing on 911. Don't quote me but the closest I have come to a crossover to date is probably the drudge report and rinf. There is this huge yawning divide between the mainstream and the alternative.

I am still at, if you want the infancy of this thing. I have been looking at sponsors, advertisers and whatever would influence a sites agenda and OK the alternatives are all after a buck no doubt just like everyone else they need funding. Media watchers will tell you that the media is in the hands off the few and that's is why they only report on the things that don't threaten there dominance. There are the disinformation sites (apparently funded by the CIA or whoever) who's job it is I imagine to keep as much clear blue sky as possible between the issue's on the mainstream and the alternative.

I'm dipping my toe in the the RSS service at the moment. I could have this site full of piped news if I wanted. For example piped news. Probably the closest site I have found that represents where my head is right now is Indymedia.org or Schnews.com. The taste of confirmed suspicions is not so sweet.

I have been amazed at the amount of people who have taken offence at the Thatcher gag on page 3 and describe it as pornographic.
